Description

The SRAM G2 line of brakes brings "Mini-Code" power to trail bikes along with a whole suite of improvements to the heat management, modulation, materials and design.

The G2 RS features 7% more power than Guide model brakes. More power means a lighter touch when applying braking power and better control. Coming equipped with SRAM's new Power Organic compound they are also quieter without sacrificing performance.

The RS levers also come equipped with SwingLink — a system designed to get brake pads to the rotor fast and moderate pressure with smooth modulation. As the pads wear, their position changes, but the feel in your hand remains the same.

Features:

SwingLink

Squeeze a new Sram brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less dead band. More positive pad engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That’s great, but there’s more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimize dead band—but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, power is modulated, avoiding that “on/off” brake feel. It’s the perfect balance of power and precision.

Power Reserve Geometry

At the end of the day, a brake lever simply multiples the force your hand generates (just like a nut cracker). Sram's Power Reserve Geometry represents a way of thinking about the physics of leverage and your hand’s comfort. This philosophy is fundamentally different than others in the business of brakes. Due to pivot placement, physics dictates that with other brake levers your fingers tend to slip off the ends as you pull. Sram designed their levers with the pivot closer to the handlebar, in fact, closer than anyone else in the industry. The resulting lever movement has less inward travel, an arc that’s closer to your fingers’ natural motion and delivers more force to the brake.

Reach Adjust

With Tools-free reach adjust for quick personalisation, R is adaptable to achieve your ideal set up with minimal effort.

S4 lightweight 4-piston caliper

The all-new S4 Caliper features four Machined and Moly-coated aluminium pistons for consistent rollback and easy set-up, Heatshield insulation and Bleeding Edge porting and adapter technology for easy bleeds.

Timing Port Closure

A hydraulic brake's timing port is the connection between the reservoir and the master cylinder bore. When the lever is squeezed, a cup seal passes this area and closes the port, which pressurises the system. Sram's new timing port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-smooth cylinder bore finish, producing dependable braking power and consistency.
