MTB Direct:
Australia's best mountain bike store. As the dominant brand in mountain bike accessories and apparel, we are working towards the next phase of evolution and have an opening for an Inventory & Planning Manager to join the team. It's a role for someone with a working knowledge of mountain bikes, clocked up either through time in industry or carving out your passion on the track. This role is fully remote!

As the ideal candidate, you'll have:

  • A proven track record of self management. A this role is work from home, you'll thrive in autonomous environments.
  • A working knowledge of mountain bike parts & accessories, either from working in the industry or as a passionate enthusiast of the sport.
  • Previous experience in delivering successful results in inventory management & planning, ideally within ecommerce.

The role will look like:

Planning and Purchasing
-

  • Ensuring purchase orders reflect business priorities, are accurate, and are sent promptly.
  • Ensure purchasing levels are kept within the targets formulated by the CEO/CFO.
  • Monitor margin, sell through, inventory pool size and other inventory metrics and maintain stock performance within the bounds agreed from time to time.

Receiving-

  • Oversight of all inbound stock issues (via 3PL).
  • Oversee the scope, testing and implementation of inventory and purchasing related processes and systems.

Inventory Catalog-

  • Ranging, range reviews, stock turns and pricing, including pricing and special sourcing needs for Retail sale events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to operationalise marketing initiatives, including leveraging the marketing team to assist in reducing overstocks or other inventory-driven initiatives.
  • Review new item suggestions from vendors to ensure they meet current business priorities.
  • Find and range new brand and product opportunities that address business needs.

Cultivating Vendor Relationships-

  • With the goal of obtaining optimum pricing/terms, and preferential product access.
