1. Does your frame take a threaded or pressfit Bottom Bracket (BB)?
2. What is the width of your BB shell/frame fitment?
Threaded BBs screw into the frame. A threaded BB has visible notches for the tool to grab onto. Pressfit BBs are pressed into frame.

Most MTB have 68-73mm wide shells. Downhill bikes have 83mm shells. Pressfit shells have similar widths, but have different internal diameters. Check your frame manual or current BB to determine the type of Pressfit needed.
The crank axle diameter that passes through the frame needs to match the BB. Buy a BB that suits your current cranks, or buy matching cranks and BB at the same time.
