Description

With the Cura 4 Formula set themselves a very ambitious goal to try to exceed their own expectations. The intention was to make a brake that had no equal in terms of power and performance, one that was made of the highest quality materials and was accessible to a vast number of riders.

The four 18mm diameter pistons of the Cura 4 provide the rider with huge amounts of stopping power. The expanded friction surface of the pads and the increased thickness provide perfect modulation. With the Cura 4 you will be able to have maximum control over braking power. The optimised roll-back allows for reaching that exceptional lever feeling that has already made the Cura famous.

The Cura 4 inherits its quality of materials from its smaller brother, Cura. In fact, it is a fully forged and anodised brake, a production process that guarantees structural quality, reliability over time and low weight.

Features:

MixMaster: The MixMaster handlebar clamp is an option for all Formula brakes. This simple upgrade allows for the direct attachment of Shimano (I-Spec B only) and SRAM shifters on your Formula brake, giving the bike a clean look. Perfect to help de-clutter handlebars busy with the many clamps today’s bikes employ.

Speed Lock: Speed Lock technology allows for the disconnection and connection of the hose multiple times without losing fluid or introducing air into the brake. The Speed Lock hose is the best option for internally routed frames, the traveller who packs their bike, or anyone who is constantly assembling/disassembling their bike.

    Best Brake I've Ridden.

After a decade on Shimano brakes (most recently Saints, 4 pot XT and XTR's) I recently had a couple of pistons crack, and seeing the price of a non-serviceable XTR caliper is the same as a complete Cura4 brake, I decided to try these.

Install and bleed was simple, the hardware is all really high quality, and the ispecEV clamp works perfectly. Mineral oil makes this a pleasant job.

The performance has really surprised me, I simply did not realise how much modulation, power and lever feel I was missing. Power seems greater than the m9120 brake, but this could be the fact the modulation is so much better that the Cura delivers better braking and traction control.

Knowing these are easily serviced with all the small parts available is reassuring, and with the performance exceeding other brakes, I'm in the process of putting Cura's on my other bikes.
