Description

Enduro Standard Abec 5 are premium replacement bearings. These are great for hubs, pedals, and bottom brackets.

ABEC 5 bearings feature:

  • Grade 5 Chromium Steel Balls.
  • In spec to 5/1,000,000″ (military grade)
  • 52100 High Carbon Chromium Alloy Races .

What's the difference between ABEC 3 and ABEC 5?

ABEC is an acronym for a committee that sets standards for bearings. Higher numbers mean higher tolerances (and price). For example, ABEC 3 balls are in tolerance to 10/1.000.000" vs. 5/1.000.000" in the ABEC5.

How does this affect me?

Higher tolerance bearings are smoother and faster. With precision, the balls will support the bearing better and increase life expectancy.

To find the correct bearing, please check your owner's manual. These are premium bearings that are among the longest lasting available, however bearing life is dependent on factors such as weather, maintenance, and installation. Please use correct installation methods and follow your component's torque specifications. Failure to do so will result in premature bearing wear.

MAX Full Complement Bearing

Designed specifically for suspension pivots, Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings almost 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots.

These bearings have 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings. Enduro accomplishes this with a special design where the maximum number of balls are inserted into the bearing. The race grooves are deeper on these bearings for more lateral support for the twisting and multiple forces associated with mountain bike pivots. LLU seals give maximum protection against the elements while keeping the 90% fill of Almagard Extra High-Pressure Grease inside.

    Careful of the seal types

One of the pictures on the product page shows a 2RS seal (red), which means a full contact seal on both sides of the bearing - which this product is not.

Instead, the ABEC 3 bearing supplied comes with two blue LLB seals. This is a non-contact seal which is more prone to ingress of dirt/water than bearings with *LU or RS seals, which ideally should be on one side of the bearing and facing out. Not a deal breaker for me, but not possible to determine what you are buying from the images and product description.

Great bearings, but beware Fulcrum wheel owners!

Great quality, run smooth, and were a perfect replacement fit for my REAR Fulcrum DB wheel hub.

However, I wish I'd paid closer attention to the previous reviewer who warned that not all 61903 bearings are alike.

Turns out, they should be, but Fulcrum in their infinite wisdom re-labelled some 18mm internal diameter bearings as 61903 (when in fact they are 18307 - 18x30x7mm), then whacked them into all of their FRONT wheel hubs!

That extra millimetre made these (actual 61903, 17mm internal diameter) bearings worthless, as the front axle is 1mm larger than the rear, and so won't fit.

So, moral of the story is - always measure your old bearings first, and do not just trust the number on the seal.

Have now purchased some 18307 bearings (from this here lovely website:) and they are a perfect fit.

    Smooth as butter

Replaced my rear wheel bearings after a few to many muddy rides.

Solid and rolls so smooth now.

Great bearing but be careful on sizing, not all 6903s are alike.

These are 6903 LLB bearings internal diameter is 17mm as stated. If you need 6903 LST DO NOT get these. 6903 LST are 18mm internal diameter, not 17mm like these.
