Description
The 4-piston Shimano Saint brake systems are Shimano's most powerful brakes. Designed for Downhill and Gravity riding where ultimate stopping power is required, the Saint 4-piston brake systems provide that power, without sacrificing modulation and feel to give you feather-light nuances to your braking efforts to retain control in the most adverse conditions.
The Saint brake lever features a shorter lightweight lever blade with a textured surface for finger grip and Shimano's signature servo-wave action provides super-fast initial pad contact and bite, with better control of power throughout the stroke. With tool-free reach adjustment, you can dial in the feel you want or respond to pad wear on those long days in the wet, and the free-stroke adjustment allows you to fine-tune the bite point.
The super-rigid Saint Caliper uses 4 lightweight ceramic pistons to improve heat dissipation and maximise rigidity, and both the calliper and the pads incorporate Shimano's Ice-Technologies heat management. Pads are retained with a screw-in retaining bolt and backup clip so you should never lose your pads.
The Saint system is easy and clean to bleed thanks to the tried and true one-way bleeding system with a bleed funnel at the lever. The Mineral Oil brake fluid provides superior performance under extreme heat and is not as corrosive as DOT brake fluid, but you should still wear gloves when bleeding brakes.
Who is this item for: While aimed at Gravity riders, the power and feel of Saint brakes can be appreciated by any rider.
