Description

As with everything that Hope produces, there is a whole bunch of precision engineering and fine attention to detail that goes into the creation of their brake rotors. The braking surface is laser cut from a sheet of steel and riveted to an aluminium central carrier to promote the dissipation of heat and compensate for thermal expansion. Available in a range of anodised colours, these rotors will make any bike look great while also improving its performance under braking.

Who's this for: The floating rotors are designed to dissipate heat well so these are a great choice for gravity fed riding on steep trails. They'll perform well for almost any type of riding though.

What's included? 1x brake rotor, 6 bolts

Mounting standard: 6 bolt or Centrelock

Materials: Steel braking surface riveted to an aluminium carrier.

Brake pad compatibility: Compatible with resin, metallic, and semi-metallic pads.

Stand out features: Floating rotor setup dissipates heat well while minimising deformation.

Dimensions / weight: Approx 146g for a 180mm rotor.

Note: The rivets on these rotors protrude approx 1mm from the surface of the disc which may cause clearance issues with some frames and forks.

For optimal clearance, the rotors are best paired with Hope hubs and Hope brake mounts. Even then there is the possibility that the rivets will not adequately clear the brake caliper or mount on some setups.

Unfortunately, there is no magic formula for predicting this so please take care during the initial installation and double-check your clearance before proceeding.

    Great braking

    Have now got Hope brakes and rotors on 3 bikes now and I think that speaks for it's self. These have stayed straight on my other bikes with a few trips to Maydena and Derby so they can handle the steep. I would advise to go for the HOPE brake adapter as well. The rivets on these suckers stick out a bit and foul on some of the other adapters that I originally had. Not by much and nothing a file didn't fix but I just go with the full HOPE set up. The rotors stay straight and don't wear too quickly and are quiet in the wet.

    Ultimate Rotor!!

    These Hope floating rotors are amazing! The quality and finish is high spec. I had no issues fitting them and the Torx bolts are great quality too. The slighter thicker Rotor 2mm total, allows me to get more refined bite point adjustment while retaining close reach of the lever with the Hope E4 brake system, compared to using a Shimano 1.8mm Rotor. Well worth money and they look Sic!!!!

    Stunning

    I bought these to go with Industry 9 wheelset as they are compatible 6 bolt.

    The blue anodizing looks stunning and matches other blue anodizing parts on my bike. But more than that, they are strong, thick and have great stopping power.

    The only downside is having to take a file to the brake mount as there is clearance issues - but I knew there might be before I placed the order. A couple of swipes with a file and all good.
