Description

The Double Barrel Kitsuma Coil Shok is a highly adjustable rear shock built for maximum performance in a design that is incredibly intuitive and easy to use.

Pro-Tune at Your fingertips: Grounded in the DNA of the original Double Barrel line of shocks, DB Kitsuma improves on its predecessors in almost every way. It caters to all varieties of riding styles, body types, and bicycle frame designs without the need for any internal valving adjustments, changes or compromises. Best of all tools neede to make adjustments out on the trail!

Wider Range of Adjustment: DB Kitsuma boasts a wider range of damping adjustment on the compression circuit and increased range of rebound control over any other major shock on the market today. The rebound range has also been shifted downward for more rebound damping to accommodate the larger spring rates needed for more modern bikes.

See and Feel What Your Settings Are: The entire range of DB Kitsuma's low-speed compression and rebound circuits are controlled within a single rotation, while the high-speed circuits are controlled within two rotations, allowing the rider to easily reference where they are within their adjustment at a glance. DB Kitsuma simplifies the tuning process by increasing the range of adjustment while reducing the number of external positions in each circuit - making each position more meaningful and discernible on the trail.

Tool-Free Adjustment: No need to crane your neck under your bike while fumbling with tiny Allen wrenches to make adjustments. DB Kitsuma sports completely tool-free adjusters that are ergonomically designed to be easily accessible and adjustable trail-side - giving riders the power of a pro-tune at their fingertips.

Three Position Climb Switch: DB Kitsuma is equipped with a single lever that switches the shock between three distinct modes, drastically affecting the shock's feel and character. The new three-position climb switch retains the "Descend" mode and patented "CS" mode which provides a stable yet responsive platform engineered to maximize traction and pedal efficiency while climbing over technical terrain and singletrack. DB Kitsuma also adds a new "Firm" mode. By utilizing a design that closes off the common bleed port, this third position excels at pedalling over long stretches of pavement or gravel roads on your way to the trail.

Who is this for: This shock is for gravity focused riders looking for maximum performance and grip, and also need to control bobbing to improve efficiency on the climbs. Also for those who don't mind playing around with a wide range of settings that allow them to dial in their bike's handling to suit the terrain they ride.

Spring type: This is a coil spring shock. (does not come with a spring)

Compression/Rebound damper style technologies: Twin Tube independent compression and rebound damping circuits. Uses Motorex 4wt damper oil.

Compression damper adjustments:

  • High speed: 13 positions.
  • Low Speed: 11 positions.

Rebound damper adjustments:

  • High speed: 13 positions.
  • Low speed: 11 positions.

    Like a LazyBoy (Staff Review)

So this baby replaced a DPX2 on my Rocky Mountain Slayer

Fox springs dont fit.. that will be my piece of advice.

Now ive only put maybe 50kms on it so far so this is just a short term review but dropping into my first decent with this was just amazing. Yes i had some dialling in to do and i still do but it was like sliding into a comfortable pair of slippers and relaxing into a lazyboy chair...

Small bumps a little reactive, click, no more! Rear end a little chattery, click, done. Big drop, and the travel felt like it got soaked up too quick, click, click no worries!

Now suspension can be a black hole for some and youd prefer to just put it on and never think of it again.. dont get this shock, its not made for you, this shock is for the tinkerers, the people who like to dial in every aspect, and want that precision that only comes with trail side adjustments.

I could go on and on, but no one would read that so ill stop here!

Keen to see how it hold up in the long term
